Subject: XIX All India Forensic Science Conference 2008

 

 

          All India Forensic Science Conference, the mega annual event of Directorate of Forensic Science, MHA, Govt. of India is proposed to be held in the last week of Dec.08 or first week of Jan. 2009. The Conference is likely to be held at Forensic Science Laboratory, Gujarat The Conference is likely to be held at Forensic Science Laboratory, Gujarat.  (Confirmed venue and date will be informed in due course of time). The central theme of the Conference will be Forensic Management.”. The programme will include invited talks on the Central theme of the conference, other forensic related key issues and technical sessions for oral and poster presentation on research work, case examination/ findings.

 

3.       Full papers  will only be accepted for the ensuing conference. The last date for receipt of paper(s) is August 31, 2008. Please send two hard copies of full paper(s) and a soft copy in a floppy disk – 3.5” or CD (Window 98/2000) to enable us to process, evaluate and include it in the proceedings, if accepted. Before sending the papers, authors must read the instructions and submit the papers accordingly. Please ensure that only full papers are sent for presentation in the conference in the conference on the subjects related to forensic science which are briefly given as under:-

 

  1. Forensic Biological sciences*
  2. Forensic Chemical sciences*
  3. Forensic Document sciences*
  4. Forensic Physical sciences*
  5. Forensic Interrogation sciences*
  6. Forensic Fingerprint sciences*
  7. Crime Scene Management*
  8. Best Photograph of the crime scene- with appropriate caption ( for poster presentation only)
  9. Best Crime Scene Investigation, based on scientific methods by Police Investigating Officer (IO) (oral & Poster presentation)

4.       The best paper/ presentation in each discipline will be given an award of Rs. 2500/-. For the selection of best photograph of the scene of crime, the photograph should be in natural colour printed in A3 size paper, depicting scientifically significant aspects of the particular crime scene findings with most suited caption.

 

6.       The Conference is scheduled for three days for presentation of scientific papers, invited talks and other scientific presentations and the Directors’ Conference.

XVIII All India Forensic Science Conference, Kolkata
from November 16 to18, 2007

The Directorate of Forensic Science, MHA, Govt. of India, is organizing XVIII All India Forensic Science Conference in collaboration with Government of West Bengal during November 16-18, 2007.

This Conference, which periodically brings together forensic science professionals, police officers and judiciary, has over the years developed into an excellent forum for exchange of information and ideas on latest forensic practices.

The central theme of the ensuing Conference is “Emerging Forensics”. The conference will have sessions on invited talks/lectures and other scientific presentations on important forensic problems/ topics in addition to technical sessions of papers for presentation on the subjects related to forensic science. Various companies dealing with state –of –the art forensic Analytical Instrument will also display their forensic technologies during the annual gathering. The Conference is scheduled for three days for presentation of scientific papers, invited talks and other scientific presentations.

1.      Vertical interaction training programme for senior IPS officers concluded at CFSL, Hyderabad and FSL Gujarat about 30 IPS officer from all India attended VIS sponsored by Bureau of Police Research & Development, MHA, New Delhi

2.      VIS training for 07-08 will tentatively held at CFSL, Chandigarh/CFSL, Kolkata/GEQD Shimla

3.      DFS welcomes suggestions and proposal for holding training programme, workshop and symposium in recent advances in forensic science for the benefit of judicial officer and senior police officers.

4.      Formulations of R&D project, the Planning Commission of Govt. of Indiah as provided R&D schemes to this Directorate and tentative outlay of Rs. 100 crores for the XI Plan (2007-2012). The expert committee of forensic science will promote the grey areas of forensic science to take up projects in research modes.

5.      Suggestion is also sought for specialized training programme for put on Human Resource Development (HRD) projects of this Directorate. Interested FSLs may sent detail proposal along with aim and objective, participant level of the programme to DFS, Hqrs.

6.      10 Forensic Analyst will be recruited on contract basis and deployed to GEQD. More information and details in this regard will be released very soon.
